'Went in hoping to run 2:45. Conditions were perfect and I felt fit and had a good block behind me.![]()

Race started well, had to handle the commotion of running alongside 59,000 other people, which made it a little bit harder to settle into a rythm. From about 5k onwards, there wasn't a part of the course without spectators.![]()

Crossed halfway in 1:24, which was a bit slower than I had hoped for but I was purposely holding back. Started to progress a bit until around 25k when my legs gave up under the pounding they had taken. By 30k I realised my race was over and began fighting to finish. With the help of the London crowd, I jogged/walked the rest of the in to run 2:58.![]()

Happy to have experienced the London crowds and to have been part of the race where the 2 hour barrier was broken. Disappointed I couldn't show the fitness I had built over the block but I'm excited to get back to work and have another stab at it. '![]()
